A comforting blend of creamy Alfredo sauce and tender shredded chicken stuffed in a toasted sandwich bun.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded or diced
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional: red pepper flakes
  • 1 cup chopped spinach or roasted red peppers
  • 4 soft sandwich buns, toasted
  • Optional: shredded mozzarella for extra cheesiness

Instructions

  1. Prepare Chicken: Take your cooked chicken and shred or dice it into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Sauté Aromatics: In your large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the finely chopped onion and minced garlic, sautéing until fragrant and translucent—about 3-5 minutes.
  3. Make Alfredo Sauce: Gradually pour in the heavy cream while whisking gently to combine. Whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese until smooth. Season with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  4. Combine Chicken and Sauce: Fold the shredded chicken into your creamy Alfredo sauce, adding spinach or roasted red peppers if using.
  5. Assemble Sandwiches: Spoon the mixture onto your toasted buns. Top with shredded mozzarella if desired.

Notes

For a delightful twist, serve your creamy chicken Alfredo over a bed of pasta instead of using buns. For make-ahead options, prepare the chicken and sauce separately and store them in the fridge.
